Preschool-Early Movers-
It isn't a surprise that our young kids want to move. At this stage we want to foster that love for activity and build upon an already strong foundation. Our activities focus on learning very fundamental skills while being coupled with other academic areas such as basic math, color recognition, and reading letters. Preschool has class once a week for 20 mins in the gym. During that time, we do a variety of movement activities that help us continue to learn and grow as healthy individuals. |
Early Elementary(Typically K-3)
Younger students are given the opportunity to try many different activities that aid in the development of their fundamental movement skills. We focus on developing their gross motor skills and ability to work successfully with teammates and partners. To achieve those goals, we take part in units that help develop throwing and catching skills, cooperation, locomotor movements, striking with implements, and many others as well. |
Older Elementary(Typically 4th-6th)
As the students grow in both their abilities and their knowledge, they can start to figure out what their interests and niches are. We like to expose students to a variety of different activities especially ones that they may not have the opportunity to try outside of school. With the older age groups at our school, we have the opportunity to explore some more complex skills. These include downhill and cross country skiing, various racket/paddle activities, disc golf, DrumFit rhythms, and many others. |
